After over a year of production turmoil, Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno will finally see the light of day. In a video posted to Facebook, Roth excitedly announced that he would be going on a nationwide “fan appreciation tour” to show his gratitude to fans for sticking around through the post-production issues. The tour will include screenings of the film, Q&A sessions, and other fun events for fans.
The tour will kick off in Chicago at Wizard World on August 23rd. Other announced cities include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, and New York. Additional cities are expected to be announced soon. There is not yet a way to purchase tickets or secure passed, but Roth promised that details will also be coming soon.
The Green Inferno follows a group of students who travel to the Amazon on a preservation trip, but they quickly discover that a cannibalistic group is trying to make them their prey. Inferno has frequently been compared to the controversial 80s horror film Cannibal Holocaust, which Roth cites as a heavy inspiration for the film.
