Warcraft is a movie that many can’t wait for. It’s also a movie that many have lost sleep over. Whether you are anticipating or dreading the release date, it is an undeniable fact that this will be one of the biggest films of 2016. The trailer is filled to the brim with CGI and plenty of visually splendid shots of exhilarating action, but it also shows evidence of a thoughtful story.
Based upon the beloved video game franchise “World of Warcraft”, Warcraft stars Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky and Daniel Wu and is directed by Duncan Jones whose only two movies to date have been Moon and Source Code, both gained heavy critical acclaim. It is due to Jones’ involvement that some are saying this may be the first “good” video game movie. Could this actually be the film to break the video game curse?
The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home.
So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.
Warcraft will be released on June 10, 2016.
