Mel Gibson looks as badass as ever in the official trailer for his new film Blood Father. The role takes the troubled actor, whose last leading part was four years ago in Get the Gringo, on the run with his estranged daughter as she is hunted down by a dangerous drug cartel.

The film also stars Erin Moriarty as Gibson’s estranged daughter Lydia. William H. Macy and Elisabeth Röhm both take on supporting roles. Blood Father is directed by Jean-François Richet and is due to hit theaters on August 26th.
